Islamabad, Pakistan has expressed its approval of the United Nations Security Council’s resolution that calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. This resolution also includes demands for the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid and the removal of impediments to the provision of such assistance.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s support for the resolution’s emphasis on facilitating humanitarian assistance to Gaza and lifting all barriers preventing aid delivery. Baloch urged for the swift enactment of the resolution and expressed hope that it would mark the beginning of the end of Israel’s severe military actions, aiming for a lasting ceasefire.

Furthermore, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar has echoed this sentiment, praising the United Nations Security Council’s resolution for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza. The 300-megawatt Gwadar coal power project, which is prominently listed among the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) priority projects, is considered essential for enhancing the energy infrastructure and economic development of the region. Islamabad, In a move to ensure the provision of affordable electricity to consumers, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, the Minister for Power, has mandated the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) to complete the electricity transmission line projects within their scheduled timelines.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the directive came as the Minister met with the Chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Lieutenant General (Retired) Sajjad Ghani, in Islamabad on Tuesday. Minister Leghari’s instructions were unequivocal: delays in project completions would not be tolerated, and there would be strict consequences for officials responsible for any such delays.



The meeting also facilitated a comprehensive dialogue on the rapid completion of WAPDA’s ongoing construction projects. Furthermore, Chairman Ghani offered WAPDA’s technical assistance to NTDC, highlighting the collaborative spirit between the two entities. Revised Senate Election Candidate List to Be Issued in Islamabad

Islamabad, In a significant development concerning the Senate elections, authorities are set to issue a revised list of candidates today. This update comes as part of the electoral process leading up to the polling for 48 vacant seats in the upper house of Parliament, scheduled for the second of next month. Candidates interested in withdrawing their nomination papers have until tomorrow to do so, indicating a critical juncture in the election timeline.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this electoral exercise is aimed at filling seats across various categories, including general seats, seats for women, and seats for technocrats and Ulema, within the Senate. Specifically, in the federal capital, members of the National Assembly will cast their votes to elect one senator for a general seat and another for the technocrats, including Ulema category. Meanwhile, in each of the country’s four provincial assemblies, members will elect senators for seven general seats, two seats reserved for women, and two seats for technocrats, including Ulema, reflecting the comprehensive representation sought in the Senate.
