Jammu, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prashant Sharma, who served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Jammu, has died from a critical head injury sustained in a motorcycle accident on Friday night.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sharma was being transported to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, Indian Punjab, when he succumbed to his injuries. Initially, he was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu after his motorcycle skidded off the road at Jewel, Jammu, where he was critically injured.
The 52-year-old officer, son of Dharam Pal Sharma of Paloura, Jammu, was on his way home when the accident occurred. Despite efforts to save him, including an urgent referral to a hospital in Ludhiana, Sharma died en route. Following the completion of medico-legal formalities at GMC Jammu, his body was handed over to his family for last rites.
