Rawalpindi, February 10, 2016 (PPI-OT): Corps Commanders Conference was held here today. General Raheel Sharif, COAS presided over the meeting. Forum took a holistic review of internal and regional security situation including reconciliation in Afghanistan and security of CPEC.
Participants discussed the importance of timely and dignified return of TDPs. COAS reiterated that all efforts and resources will be employed to bring about lasting stability and socio economic revival for prosperity and well being of displaced people of affected areas.
While speaking to the forum COAS said that Pakistan has achieved significant successes in operation ZeA, but this war against terrorism is complex, requires steadfast and unified response. Terrorists are being funded externally by hostile intelligence agencies and have their sympathizers at home who provide them shelter and refuge.
COAS reiterated that we will defeat the nefarious designs of our enemies and eliminate terrorists from Pakistan’s soil. Resilience of whole Nation and professionalism of our security forces are our real assets and I am optimistic that we will succeed in bringing enduring peace in Pakistan.
