Civil Servants Visit NDMA Headquarters to Study Disaster Management Strategies

Islamabad, A group of civil servants from various service groups, currently participating in the 35th Senior Management Course at the National Institute of Management (NIM) Islamabad, visited the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) today. The visit was part of an educational initiative to enhance their understanding of disaster management and emergency response capabilities.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, the officers were given an in-depth briefing on the capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), which includes handling various hazards and vulnerabilities. The presentation also covered disaster management strategies and the use of predictive modeling to anticipate and mitigate the impacts of potential disasters.

The visiting civil servants expressed their appreciation for the NDMA’s proactive approach to disaster management, specifically highlighting the state-of-the-art facilities and capabilities of the NEOC. This visit underscores the importance of integrating advanced disaster management training into the curriculum for senior management civil servants, ensuring that they are well-prepared to handle emergencies in their respective capacities.
