DG ISPR Highlights India’s Actions in Kashmir as Regional Security Threat

Islamabad: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry today underscored the impact of India’s policies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on regional peace, during a speech in Rawalpindi on Youm-e-Istehsal.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Lieutenant General Chaudhry detailed how India’s demographic changes and human rights violations in Kashmir represent a blatant disregard for international laws and pose a serious threat to stability in the region. He reiterated the need for a resolution of the Kashmir conflict in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people to achieve lasting peace.

The ISPR Chief also highlighted the ongoing support of Pakistan’s armed forces for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination and paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir. In addition, he provided insights into the counterterrorism efforts within Pakistan, mentioning that the armed forces conducted over 23,622 intelligence-based operations this year, including operations against terrorist elements in Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

Chaudhry further elaborated on the broader role of the armed forces in public welfare across the country, particularly in the sectors of education, health, and agriculture, emphasizing their contributions to community development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
