Easypaisa Joins Forces with Unikrew and USAID to Promote Women’s Financial Empowerment

Islamabad, Easypaisa, Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform, has announced a partnership with Unikrew and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to enhance financial empowerment for women. This initiative focuses on integrating women-centric financial products within the Easypaisa app, aiming to boost financial inclusion and independence for women through digital technology.

According to Easypaisa, this collaboration involves implementing a fully digital registration and account opening process within the Easypaisa app, specifically tailored to provide women with an instant and hassle-free experience in establishing financial accounts. To further encourage women to engage in financial activities, Easypaisa is offering a joining bonus of Rs. 100 as an immediate incentive for opening an account, aimed at simplifying their entry into the financial world.

Farhan Hassan, Head of Easypaisa Wallet Business, commented on the partnership, emphasizing Easypaisa’s commitment to using technology for empowering individuals and promoting financial inclusion. He highlighted the significance of the collaboration with Unikrew and USAID in providing accessible, user-friendly financial tools designed for women. The goal is to encourage more women to take charge of their financial futures by offering a seamless digital experience and attractive incentives.

In addition to the digital registration process, Easypaisa is introducing a high saving rate of 16% for women users. The app’s “Goal-Based Savings” feature enables women to set financial goals and timelines, with Easypaisa offering guidance and support for making monthly contributions. Women will receive a 16% profit on the amount saved upon reaching their financial milestones.

Further enhancing convenience, Easypaisa is allowing women to upgrade their account levels directly through the app, using an in-app fingerprint verification module developed by Unikrew. This digital upgrade eliminates the need for physical branch visits, and the fee for this service is being waived for women customers.

With over 40 million registered accounts, Easypaisa continues to demonstrate its commitment to driving social change and financial inclusion through technology and strategic partnerships.
