Excise Minister Rehman Chairs Meeting on Revenue Reforms in Peshawar

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Minister, Mian Khaliqur Rehman, presided over a critical meeting focused on enhancing revenue collections, assessing departmental performance, and implementing ongoing reforms for the fiscal year 2023-24. The meeting saw participation from top department officials, including Secretary Syed Fayaz Ali Shah and Director General Akmal Khan Khattak.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Rehman was briefed on current revenue achievements, set targets, and the performance of regional and district offices. He commended the directors and officers for their effective performance and issued directives aimed at further improving department efficiency.

The Minister emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to enhance transparency, including the introduction of an online system for property and token tax information, as well as an online tax calculator. He also highlighted the urgent need to address drug proliferation among youth and called for expanded intelligence operations to bolster anti-narcotics efforts.
