Fatima Fertilizer Expands Initiative with Healthcare for Rural Women

Lahore: Fatima Fertilizer, through its Sarsabz Tabeer initiative, has introduced a healthcare component aimed at empowering rural women and female farmers. Collaborating with Mukhtar A. Sheikh Memorial Welfare Hospital (MASH) and the Government of Punjab, the program seeks to address healthcare challenges faced by underserved communities.

The inaugural Free Medical Camp took place on June 26 at THQ Hospital Kehrorpaka, Lodhran, offering free consultations and medicine to 400 participants, including 100 female farmers. Specialists in Gynecology, Pediatrics, Nephrology, and other fields provided services, highlighting the program’s comprehensive approach.

Officials including Multan Division Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan and Assistant Commissioner Ashraf Saleh Khan attended, emphasizing institutional support. Noor Malik from Fatima Fertilizer and Babar Khan from MASH led the initiative, underscoring the collaboration’s community focus.

Rabel Sadozai, Director Marketing and Sales at Fatima Fertilizer, stated that the initiative aims to uplift women, who significantly contribute to agriculture with a 67.9% participation rate. By integrating healthcare, the program seeks to offer holistic empowerment through access to essential services.

The healthcare initiative builds on Sarsabz Tabeer’s existing focus on Education, Skill Development, and Financial Empowerment. Initially launched to provide vocational training in food processing, the program has empowered over 2,000 women across Pakistan, promoting financial independence and sustainable agriculture.

A recent Memorandum of Understanding with the Akhuwat Foundation has further enhanced the program by offering financial resources and entrepreneurial support. With additional medical camps planned, Sarsabz Tabeer continues to contribute to the socio-economic transformation of rural communities.
