Federal Minister for Interior and KP Governor Strategize on Kurram Security Issues

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a pivotal meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Ministry of Interior today to discuss security and law order in the province, particularly focusing on the recent troubling incidents in Kurram.

According to Press Information Department, both leaders expressed serious concern over the recent violent incidents in Kurram, which resulted in the loss of lives due to longstanding land disputes. They agreed to develop a comprehensive joint strategy to prevent such events in the future, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, Minister Naqvi highlighted the immediate actions taken in collaboration with local leaders, including MNA Hamid Hussain from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, to de-escalate tensions and normalize the situation swiftly. He credited the security forces for their effective measures in managing the situation and reiterated the government’s resolve to enhance the law and order framework in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including efforts to counteract any external influences that could undermine peace efforts.

Governor Kundi expressed his gratitude towards Minister Naqvi for his dedication and ongoing support in establishing peace across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring the collaborative efforts between the provincial and federal governments.
