Federal Minister Prioritizes Low-Cost Housing and Merit-Based Plot Allocation in Islamabad Meeting

Islamabad, In a significant meeting held by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, the Federal Minister for Housing and Works, underscored the critical need for affordable housing and integrity in the plot allocation process. The session, convened at the Ministry of Housing and Works, aimed to scrutinize and enhance the operational mechanisms of the FGEHA.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting was a platform where Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, the Director General of FGEHA, briefed Minister Pirzada on the department’s current management and operations. The discussions centered on maintaining a merit-based system for plot distribution, with Pirzada emphasizing the eradication of any discrepancies to ensure transparency. He advocated for a rigorous audit of the authority, highlighting the necessity of combating corruption decisively.

Minister Pirzada also focused on the timely completion of development projects to benefit government employees and the broader public, aligning with the government’s commitment to providing economical living options. The gathering, which included Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Secretary of Housing and Works, and other high-ranking officials, was a step towards reinforcing the government’s dedication to facilitating accessible and affordable housing, especially for the less privileged sectors of society.
