Finance Minister Aurangzeb Engages Suzuki Delegation on Auto Industry Expansion in Islamabad

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with a delegation from Suzuki Motors Corporation (SMC) led by its Japanese Global Vice President, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, today at the Finance Division. The meeting focused on expanding Suzuki’s investment and enhancing policy support to boost the automotive sector in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Finance, the delegation, including the CEO and MD of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL), Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, discussed Suzuki’s historical contributions to Pakistan’s automobile industry since 1983 and proposed new long-term investment plans. These plans include policy interventions aimed at increasing the company’s production volume to enhance regional competitiveness.

Minister Aurangzeb expressed his appreciation for Suzuki’s innovative proposals and reiterated Pakistan’s potential as a major market with substantial growth capacities, poised to become a strategic hub for exports. He highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting clean energy initiatives and welcomed further investments in this area.

The Suzuki delegation expressed gratitude for the government’s support and committed to collaborating further to achieve mutual economic development goals.
