Finance Minister chairs meeting to review performance of Federal Board of Revenue

Islamabad, January 28, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting at the Finance Ministry this evening to review the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue for the month of January 2016. Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Revenue Mr. Haroon Akhtar and Chairman FBR Mr. Nisar Ahmad briefed the Minister on the overall performance of FBR in achieving the revenue collection targets and further actions to be taken once the legislation related to Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme approved by the Parliament is assented to by the President.

The Minister also discussed other important issues with Chairman FBR to improve the performance of the revenue collection authority. He also stressed that FBR should help create congenial and conducive environment for businesses in the country. The Minister, after the meeting, was thanked by Mr. Naeem Mir, Secretary General All Pakistan Traders Association for facilitating the traders by the new tax scheme.
