Finance Minister Focuses on Tax Reforms and Fraud Prevention at FBR Meeting

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired a meeting at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters today, where he discussed a range of tax-related initiatives aimed at expanding Pakistan’s tax base and combating tax evasion.

According to Federal Board of Revenue, the meeting centered around the Tajir Dost Scheme, which targets incorporating small traders into the tax net. The Minister stressed the government’s commitment to the scheme’s success and called for enhanced measures to identify and address tax fraud and fake invoices. Discussions also touched upon various Information Technology projects and the ongoing efforts toward the digitalization of the FBR, all aimed at improving efficiency and transparency in tax collection processes.
