Islamabad, In a key meeting today, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb discussed Huawei’s significant contributions to Pakistan’s digital infrastructure with CEO Sun Xiaofei and his team. The discussions focused on Huawei’s long-term digital and ICT initiatives in Pakistan, highlighting the company’s 25-year history in the ICT sector and the potential for the country to emerge as a major IT hub.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Huawei delegation outlined the capabilities of its Pakistan Global Service Centre and proposed several areas of cooperation including tax digitalization, e-invoicing, and revenue automation. These initiatives aim to further enhance Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
Minister Aurangzeb commended Huawei’s innovative proposals and briefed the delegation on the progress made by the Federal Board of Revenue in digitizing the tax system. He expressed enthusiasm for the potential synergies between Huawei’s technologies and Pakistan’s digital economy goals. Additionally, the Minister welcomed Huawei’s interest in deepening its collaboration with the Pakistani government to promote the digital economy.
The meeting concluded with an invitation from CEO Sun Xiaofei for Senator Aurangzeb to visit Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen for further discussions on finance and digital economy cooperation with Huawei’s executive leaders.
