Governor Sindh Commits to Elevating Rice Sector at Eid Milan Event

Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori affirmed his commitment to elevate the rice sector to industrial status during his participation in the Eid Milan ceremony organized by the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP). The event was attended by notable figures including REAP Chairman Chela Ram Kiwalani, former Chairman Abdul Rahim Janu, and various consular representatives.

According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori acknowledged the significant contributions of Abdul Rahim Janu to the rice industry, recommending him for a Medal of Distinction in recognition of his efforts. The governor emphasized the need for urgent discussions on stabilizing Pakistan’s economic conditions and praised the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit within the rice sector.

The ceremony highlighted the close interaction between government officials and business leaders, with REAP Vice Chairman Haseeb Ali Khan and other dignitaries expressing support for Governor Tesori’s approachable and cooperative governance style. Tesori’s tenure was noted for its openness and responsiveness to the business community, contrasting with more inaccessible predecessors.

The event underscored the importance of the rice industry to Pakistan’s economy and the governor’s proactive role in facilitating dialogues to enhance the sector’s development and address broader economic challenges.
