Govt gives conditional permission to export 150,000 metric tons of sugar: Tanveer

Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain says the government has given conditional permission to export one hundred and fifty thousand metric tons of sugar.

Chairing sugar advisory board meeting in Islamabad, he said availability of sugar stock and price stability will be ensured. He said ex-mill price of sugar will not be increased under any circumstances.

The Federal Minister said all pending payments to farmers will be made on priority basis. He said Sugar Advisory Board will reassess sugar prices and market stability in fortnight. He said future sugar export option will depend on price stability and stock availability in the country.
