Green Pakistan Initiative Drives Sustainable Growth in Agriculture and Livestock

Islamabad: The Green Pakistan Initiative under the Special Investment Facilitation Council has ushered in sustainable development in agriculture and livestock sectors.

According to Radio Pakistan, the initiative has introduced satellite monitoring of crops and launched the ‘LIMS Pakistan’ website to guide farmers about modern farming techniques. This effort aims to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency by providing farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge.

In addition to technological advancements, the initiative has focused on ensuring equitable distribution of water for agricultural purposes. This is being achieved through the cleanliness and maintenance of approximately 15,300 miles of irrigation networks, a critical step in supporting sustainable agriculture practices.

The Special Investment Facilitation Council’s efforts have also facilitated collaboration with local and global investors for direct investment in agriculture through the “B2B” model. This collaboration is expected to bring in significant investments, promoting growth in the sector.

Furthermore, the launch of Smart Agri Farms, Green Malls, and Model Farms under the initiative marks a significant step towards modernizing the agricultural landscape of Pakistan. With SIFC’s effective strategy, Pakistan is on the path to becoming a modern, self-sufficient, and export-oriented agri-economy.
