Groundbreaking of two housing projects to be held current month: Faisal

Islamabad: Minister for Housing and Works Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat said on Monday that groundbreaking of two housing projects for government employees would be held this month.

Replying to a call attention notice by Raja Muhammad Asad and others in the National Assembly he said these include Kuri Road Project and construction of about three thousand apartments in G-14 sector of Islamabad.

The Minister acknowledged that there was considerable delay in the construction of residential projects initiated by the Housing Foundation and added that this was because of irregularities and defects identified by the Ministry. He said the Ministry has referred some cases to NAB for inquiry and prosecution while Supreme Court too has taken suo moto notice in some other cases.
