Gwadar Port Authority board meeting held

Islamabad: The 25th meeting of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Board was held here today in the Ministry of Port and Shipping. The meeting was presided over by Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Hayat of the Authority.

In the meeting general administrative matters pertaining to Gwadar Port Authority were discussed. It was decided in the meeting that in accordance with eh Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan package, all the employees of Grade 1 to 16 of GPA will be hired from amongst the locals. It was further decided that pay and allowances of the GPA Employees will be increased.

The Chairman also announced that for the 24 hours operation and to facilitate 70,000 metric tons mother ships on the port, latest navigation system has been installed at the Port, which will also be functional during night time. The Chairman further said that the work of dragging has been completed to ensure 14 ½ meters depth before the moon soon season for the smooth functioning of the port.
