Heat Wave Claims 19 Lives in Bihar

Patna, A severe heat wave has claimed the lives of 19 people across Bihar, with temperatures soaring above 44 degrees Celsius, creating a public health crisis in the state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the majority of the fatalities occurred in Aurangabad, where 12 individuals succumbed to the extreme heat. Additionally, the heat wave has been particularly harsh in Kaimur district, claiming four lives, including an election worker, and in Bhojpur district, where three deaths were reported in Arrah. Dr. Sahil Raj from Mohania’s sub-divisional hospital reported that numerous individuals, including police personnel, have been treated for heat stroke, with some fatalities occurring despite medical intervention.

Local authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and provide medical assistance to those affected by the oppressive temperatures, as the community grapples with the ongoing environmental challenge.
