Hindu community role in the progress of Pakistan is exemplary: Mukesh Kumar Chawla

Karachi, October 20, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that the Sindh Government has ordered to pay salaries / pensions and grants of Hindu government employees till 24th October on the eve of Dewali so that they may celebrate their festival happily. This he said while talking to a delegation of Hindu community here in his office on Thursday.

Rawi Dowani, Ramesh Kumar, Sharad Kumar, Kunya Lal and Kartar Lal were also present on the occasion. He said that Pakistan Peoples Party had always protected and defended the rights of the minorities and minorities in Sindh had full freedom to observe their religious rituals.

He added, ‘ Dewali is a happy festival and the people belonging to Hindu community celebrates this festival with pomp and show and the followers of other religions also share the happiness of Hindu community ‘. He was of the opinion that there was no doubt that the Hindu community had played a significant role in the development of Sindh and Pakistan as well. Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that for the defence and progress of the country the Hindu community would sacrifice lives and prove an iron wall against the enemies of Pakistan if anyone tried to harm the integrity and solidarity of the country.

He said that Sindh government had taken many measures for the betterment of the minorities especially of Hindus. Their worship places were being renovated and preserved and special funds had been released for Hindu widows and needy as well.
