Pakistani PM Initiates Industrial Recognition for Gemstone Sector

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the creation of a detailed action plan for the gemstone sector to enhance the utilization and international standing of Pakistan’s gem resources. The plan includes the granting of industrial status to the sector and aims for international certification of gemstone products.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting held in Islamabad, Sharif emphasized the need for collaboration with the private sector and provincial governments to boost the gemstone industry. The initiatives include activating the Gems and Jewellery Development Company and starting training programs for value addition in the industry.
