IED Attack in Lakki Marwat District Claims Lives of Seven Pakistani Security Personnel

Lakki Marwat, An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on a vehicle carrying security forces in Lakki Marwat District on June 9, resulting in the death of seven personnel, including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the attack claimed the lives of individuals from various districts, illustrating the broad geographic representation within Pakistan’s security forces. Those martyred include Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, 26, from Kasur District; Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, 50, from Skardu District; Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, 34, from Ghanchi District; Lance Naik Hussain Ali, 36, from Ghizer District; Sepoy Asad Ullah, 33, from Multan District; Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, 27, from Gilgit District; and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood, 31, from Rawalpindi District.

Following the incident, a sanitization operation was initiated to secure the area and efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators are ongoing. The attack has reinforced the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to combat terrorism and uphold national security.
