Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has promoted 46 senior traffic wardens to Grade 17, elevating them to the post of Traffic Officer.
According to Punjab Police, the promotions include 29 senior traffic wardens from Lahore, 5 from Faisalabad, 7 from Multan, and 5 from Gujranwala.
In a video message to the promoted officers and their colleagues, Dr. Anwar acknowledged the lack of a service structure for traffic wardens since their induction into the police force two decades ago. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Punjab for facilitating these promotions, which now align with the Deputy Superintendent of Police rank. Dr. Anwar emphasized that the promoted officers will continue their service within the department, with further opportunities anticipated in cities such as Rawalpindi, based on merit.
Dr. Anwar urged all traffic wardens to maintain their dedication and diligence in their duties as they advance within the police service, underscoring their role in public service.
