India trying to change demographic complexion of IOK: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, December 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that Kashmiris had nourished their liberation struggle with the blood and they would take it to its logical conclusion at all costs.

He urged India to read writing on the wall and take steps to settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a seminar held at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar, today, in connection with the Human Rights Week said that Indian army and police are committing gross human rights violations in the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination.

The Mirwaiz said that so-called elections in the occupied territory could neither be a substitute of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination nor they could change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the failure of the United Nations to settle the Kashmir dispute had put a big question mark on the effectiveness of the World Body. He said that Kashmir was not a territorial dispute but an internationally recognized disputed territory pending with the UN for last several decades.

Senior APHC leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt addressing on the occasion, said that the liberation struggle of Kashmiri people was based on justice and would continue it till complete success. He said that they would not allow anyone to usurp their rights. He also praised the services of Engineer Hilal War for liberation movement and welcomed him in the APHC.

Another senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in his address expressed serious concern over the continued human rights violations by the Indian troop in the occupied territory. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue struggle for securing birthright to self-determination.

Engineer Hilal War, who, along with a large number of party activists joined the APHC, addressing the seminar, applauded the contribution of APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq for Kashmir cause. He expressed full confidence in his leadership and said that the people of Kashmir would soon get rid of Indian bondages under the leadership of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Maulana Abbas Ansari, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javed Ahmed Mir, Musaddiq Aadil, Mir Shahid Saleem, and other Hurriyet leaders were also present on the occasion. The Chairman of Peoples Political Party,. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq welcomed their decision. Syed Saleem Gilani performed as stage secretary of the seminar.
