Islamabad, May 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK-chapter Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has said that Modi’s fascist Indian government is using its notorious investigation agencies like National Investigation Agency, State Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate as a weapon to weaken the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehmood Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad made it clear that pro-freedom Kashmiris cannot be prevented from continuing their struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination by the Indian agencies. He strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders Shaukat Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Ayub Dar for the past 22 years and said that the health of both leaders is rapidly deteriorating in jail.
Saghar said that Indian forces are arresting Kashmiris in false cases and raiding their houses as part of a revenge policy. He maintained that filing of false cases against Kashmiris is the result of Modi government’s stupidity and appealed to international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to ensure the immediate release of Kashmiri political prisoners.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement(JKSM) Chairman, Altaf Ahmed Butt, in a statement in Islamabad appreciated the efforts of UN Special Rapporteur on minority issues, Fernand de Varennes, in shedding light on the critical situation faced by the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He acknowledged and supported the concerns raised by Fernand de Varennes regarding the planned G20 meeting in Srinagar, emphasizing the need to address the ongoing violations of human rights in IIOJK.
