Indian army captures heights of Doda belt before sham polls

Jammu, April 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian Army has taken over the heights in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts and started patrolling, while troops have also been put on alert, a day before the so-called elections in the Doda belt.

A local English daily in its report stated that the Army would be dominating the heights of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts during the elections.

DIG Doda-Ramban range said that the Army had been dominating heights of all three districts of Doda belt to ensure polling.

Kishtwar town was rocked by communal violence on August 9, 2013, on the occasion of Eid festival in which three persons were killed and large-scale property of Muslims including shops and houses were burnt and damaged by Hindu extremists.
