Islamabad: Pakistan’s Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, Saba Sadiq, has dismissed allegations made by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who accused Pakistan of being the “epicenter of terrorism.”
According to a statement by Press Information Department, Saba Sadiq criticized the claims as a diversion from what she described as India’s serious human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She cited enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and the use of pellet guns against civilians as actions that contravene international human rights laws.
Saba Sadiq highlighted that such rhetoric from India poses a threat to regional stability. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and urged the international community to hold India accountable for its actions in Kashmir.
“Our leadership is dedicated to supporting the Kashmiri people and enhancing institutions to ensure lasting peace in the region,” Saba Sadiq stated, calling for global attention to the human rights situation in IIOJK.
