Indian I-T official, paramilitary commando killed in violence-hit Manipur state

Imphal, May 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): An Income Tax department official and Indian paramilitary commando were killed in the ongoing violence in the disturbed state of Manipur. The Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Association in a tweet said that Letminthang Haokip, a Tax Assistant, was dragged out of his official residence and beaten to death by some unknown people in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, during the current spate of violence.

Meanwhile, a commando of Indian Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force’s Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) on leave was shot dead by armed assailants in Churachandpur district of the state. The assailants in police-like uniform entered the village and killed Constable Chonkholen Haokip of the 204th CoBRA Battalion in the district, officials said.
