International Day of Parliamentarism Celebrated Today

Islamabad, Today marks the celebration of International Day of Parliamentarism, an occasion dedicated to acknowledging the vital role of parliaments in fostering democracy worldwide. The day is set aside to recognize the influence of people as the ultimate decision-makers in shaping the destinies of nations. This year’s theme focuses on ‘Parliamentary diplomacy: Building bridges for peace and understanding’.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah have emphasized the paramount importance of parliamentary supremacy for the growth and development of democratic institutions in the country. In separate messages, they highlighted the critical role of parliaments in promoting democratic values, human rights, and the rule of law, reaffirming the Pakistani Parliament’s commitment to these principles. They also stressed the significance of international cooperation and collaboration among parliaments to achieve these goals.
