Islamabad Hosts Training on Reproductive Health in Crisis Settings

Islamabad: A three-day training session, organized by the Gender and Child Cell in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), recently concluded in Islamabad. The program focused on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for reproductive health in crisis situations, targeting government officials from the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) of AJK and various NGOs and INGOs based in the capital.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, the training, held from August 29 to August 30, 2024, was designed to raise awareness among participants about the critical need for addressing sexual reproductive health during emergencies. The sessions also provided practical knowledge on using the MISP Calculator, an essential tool for assessing the reproductive health needs of vulnerable populations, and detailed instruction on MISP kits and checklists.

The event underscores the ongoing commitment of national and international bodies to enhance the capabilities of local and regional stakeholders in providing vital health services during crises, ensuring that vulnerable groups receive the necessary support and care.
