Srinagar: Incarcerated leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have expressed warm wishes to Pakistan on the eve of its 77th Independence Day, despite their confinement in India’s Tihar Jail.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Chairman Massrat Alam Butt, through a message released in Srinagar and sent from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, conveyed his greetings to the people and Government of Pakistan. He acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing support for the Kashmiri cause in political, moral, and diplomatic spheres.
Senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah, also detained in Tihar Jail, described the Kashmir issue as a pending part of the partition of the Indian subcontinent. He highlighted that the aspirations for a vibrant and prosperous Pakistan are intertwined with the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, advocating for Kashmir’s liberation from Indian control and its integration into Pakistan.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan, another APHC leader in captivity, shared his message of gratitude towards Pakistan for its steadfast support towards the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. He voiced hope that Pakistan would continue to bring international attention to the Kashmir issue and the Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
