JKLF Commemorates Maulana Showkat’s Martyrdom Anniversary in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad, The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) observed the martyrdom anniversary of Maulana Showkat Shaheed in Muzaffarabad, honoring his significant contributions to the freedom movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, JKLF spokesperson Muhammad Rafiq Dar expressed deep admiration for Maulana Showkat Shaheed, highlighting his efforts towards eradicating sectarianism and promoting unity and peace in the region. Maulana Showkat was assassinated on April 8, 2011, in Srinagar, but his legacy continues to inspire the people of IIOJK.

Dar praised Maulana Showkat for his commitment to the freedom struggle, his advocacy for the unification of the Muslim community, and his initiatives in educational and social welfare, including the proposal to establish an Islamic university. He also mentioned Maulana Showkat’s philanthropic work and his dedication to spreading the principles of the Quran and Sunnah.

The commemoration serves as a reminder of Maulana Showkat’s enduring influence and the respect he commands among his followers and even his opponents. His contributions to the Kashmiri cause and societal improvement were underscored as invaluable assets to the region’s history and struggle for self-determination.
