Karachi, June 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has directed to computerize all record of KMC and KDA Land Department as soon as possible and scan all documents to save all data. Any officer or staff of KMC and KDA land record room should not be allowed to take files with them without permission of Administrator Karachi.
He issued these directives during a visit to record room located on ground floor at Civic Centre. On this occasion he was accompanied by Financial Advisor Khalid Mehmood Shaikh, Sr. Director I.T. Masood Alam and other officers. KMC Administrator said that land record of KMC and KDA was very important therefore it was necessary to save this record through latest technology. He said that land record was very helpful in planning of modern cities through which computerized map of any area and future projects were prepared with the help of it.
City planning was not possible unless required land record was available. Computerized land record was saved in all big cities of the world so that it would remain in its original shape and no illegal amendment or change could be made and at this rate fraud and deception could also be stopped. He said we would have to implement modern techniques for development.
Administrator Karachi while inspecting record room directed Sr. Director Information Technology to make proper arrangements for saving all files and documents till computerization of land record and in this connection Director Land Record Room KMC and Deputy Director Land Record KDA should be bound that no officer or employee would be allowed to take files with them without permission of Administrator Karachi.
He said some officers take office files with them which was objectionable therefore officers and staff of KMC and KDA land record room should follow the instructions in this regard. Administrator Karachi said that digital technology in developed countries has brought revolution and all works were being carried out through computer and internet which has provided common people with facilities. All departments in Pakistan would also have to be aware of latest information technology.
Computerization enhances performance of any department and it was especially very important for those departments where record was prepared and saved on large scale. Computerization provides faster and quality work in less time therefore all land record of KMC and KDA should be computerized as soon as possible.
