Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor Criticizes Punjab’s Lack of Comprehensive Health Projects

Peshawar, Barrister Dr. Saif, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor for Information and Public Relations, criticized the Punjab government’s focus on less essential services like air ambulances over more fundamental health care needs such as the health card project. In a recent video message, he urged Punjab to adopt more substantive health initiatives.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Saif’s comments came as a critique of the current healthcare policies under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz in Punjab. He highlighted the disparities in healthcare provision, suggesting that while the elite may have access to extensive medical resources, including trips abroad for minor issues, the general populace lacks basic health services. Dr. Saif accused the Punjab government of prioritizing political supporters over the general needs of its citizens, especially in the distribution of benefits like the Ramadan package.

The advisor also lampooned the Punjab government’s lack of a systematic approach similar to the health card scheme, which has been deemed revolutionary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His remarks underscore a call for substantial policy reforms in Punjab’s healthcare system, aiming to ensure broader access to essential medical services for all residents.
