Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has characterized the recent visit by a Saudi delegation, led by their Foreign Minister, as marking the commencement of a new era in investment, commercial, and strategic partnerships between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a high-level meeting in Islamabad focused on Saudi investments in Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude towards the Saudi Crown Prince for his pivotal role in enhancing Pak-Saudi investment and trade relations. He underscored his personal commitment to overseeing the progress of Saudi investments and stated his intolerance for any negligence in this area.
Prime Minister Sharif commended the efforts of Federal Ministers and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for transforming the Saudi delegation’s visit into a productive partnership, benefiting both nations. He also announced plans to engage world-renowned experts to ensure the successful completion of international investment projects.
With anticipation of a forthcoming visit by a delegation of prominent Saudi businessmen, the Prime Minister indicated that this signals a positive development in further cementing bilateral economic ties. He also revealed that additional investment opportunities are expected to be finalized during his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia for the World Economic Forum.
The long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were highlighted, with the Prime Minister acknowledging Saudi Arabia’s consistent support during challenging times. He expressed the nation’s appreciation for the keen interest shown by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in fostering cooperation with Pakistan.
The meeting also touched on the sectors targeted for Saudi investment, including mining and minerals, agriculture, energy, information technology, and infrastructure, which were key topics of discussion during the bilateral talks.
