Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor Urges Rapid Completion of Tourism Projects

Peshawar, Zahid Chanzeb, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism, Culture, and Archeology, has called for the swift completion of tourism projects to fully achieve the set development goals, emphasizing a performance-based approach for future funding and support within the sector.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chanzeb made these remarks during a development meeting with the Kaghan Development Authority at Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad and while meeting with delegations from Mansehra. He detailed that the provincial government will evaluate departments based on their success in meeting these objectives, affecting their future funding and resource allocation.

During the meetings, the Director General of the Kaghan Development Agency, Muhammad Shabbir, briefed Chanzeb on the progress of various tourism-related schemes, including hotel management from Mansehra to Lake Saif-ul-Muluk and tourist facilities along the highways. Efforts to reopen the Mansehra Naran to Jhalkat (MNJ) road, typically closed in the winter, were also discussed, with the Kaghan Development Agency playing a supportive role to the National Highway Authority in this initiative.

Chanzeb expressed satisfaction with the progress but issued directives for more robust actions to enhance tourism development and improve tourist facilities. He highlighted the importance of quality services in hotels and restaurants, the availability of washrooms and drinking water along highways, and maintaining these facilities through local partnerships. Additionally, he emphasized the need for clean water to prevent health issues among tourists.

The advisor affirmed that the provincial government and the Department of Tourism and Culture are committed to a robust five-year action plan aimed at enhancing tourism experiences across the province, ensuring they are memorable, enjoyable, and health-conscious.
