Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani Meets Iranian President to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Regional Cooperation

Islamabad, The Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gillani, welcomed the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation to Pakistan, reinforcing the importance of high-level engagements to promote regional cooperation and bilateral relations. During the meeting, Chairman Gillani emphasized the strong historical ties between his family and Iran, citing his ancestor, Hazrat Ghaus ul Azam, and his past visits to Iran, where he discussed the value of bilateral dialogue in enhancing relations between the two countries.

According to Press Information Department, Chairman Senate Gillani noted that Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan in 1947, further strengthening the relationship.
