Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Labor Minister Advocates for Enhanced Worker Rights

Peshawar, Minister of Labor Fazal Shakur Khan emphasized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s commitment to improving the welfare of workers through supportive legislation and policies. During an International Labor Day event, he highlighted the challenges faced by workers due to technological advancements and globalization, asserting the government’s proactive approach to safeguarding their rights.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Khan spoke about the province’s efforts to align local labor laws with international standards, specifically those set by the International Labour Organization (ILO), of which Pakistan is a longstanding member. He outlined various initiatives aimed at providing dignified employment and improving working conditions for laborers. The Minister also mentioned the provincial government’s directives to prioritize labor welfare and the ongoing efforts to ensure that labor laws are inclusive and non-discriminatory.
