Peshawar, Abdul Karim Tordhir, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Industries and Crafts and Technical Education, has instructed the Government College of Technology in Peshawar to leverage its modern training equipment not just for educational purposes but also to enhance its financial stability.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tordhir’s directives were issued during a surprise visit to the college located on Kohat Road. He emphasized the need for the institution to explore commercial avenues that could bolster its financial resources and ensure self-reliance. The Special Assistant also reviewed the utilization of advanced training equipment and machines, insisting that they be fully employed in practical training to avoid an over-reliance on theoretical knowledge.

Principal Engineer Syed Qasim Shah, along with other staff members, received Tordhir and briefed him on the operational aspects and training applications of the newly installed equipment. Tordhir expressed his expectations that the college should submit proposals on how to utilize their resources commercially, alongside their educational activities, to maximize financial benefits.

Tordhir’s instructions clearly reflected a vision for technical education institutions to not only equip students with skills but also to contribute to their institution’s financial health through innovative use of facilities and resources.
