Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Appoint Only Female Teachers in New Primary Schools for Enhanced Child Nurturing

Peshawar, In a recent policy shift, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Faisal Khan Turki, announced that new primary schools in the region will exclusively hire female teachers to better nurture and compassionately teach young children. This move is part of a broader strategy to address teacher shortages and improve educational quality across the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Turki outlined the new staffing policy during a review meeting with education department officials, including Special Secretary Education Isfandiar Khattak and other senior figures. The policy is designed to ensure that each child receives attentive and empathetic instruction right from their early schooling years.

The meeting also covered various initiatives aimed at strengthening the educational infrastructure, such as the Human Capital Investment Project and the ASPIRE projects, which include upgrading school facilities and establishing advanced learning programs. Minister Turki emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing IT education by repositioning IT teachers and upgrading IT labs, alongside the development of play areas and early childhood education (ECE) rooms.

Furthermore, Minister Turki highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve service conditions for teachers, including permanent resolutions to salary issues for second shift school teachers and incentives for outstanding performance, ensuring that educators are supported and motivated.
