Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Assures Pakistan of Actions Against Perpetrators of Bishkek Riots

Islamabad, In response to recent unrest in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev has assured Pakistan of his country’s commitment to punishing those responsible.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting in Astana with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister Kulubaev expressed his resolve to ensure the safety and security of all Pakistani nationals, including facilitating the safe repatriation of students wishing to return.

This meeting underscored the Kyrgyz government’s swift actions to restore law and order and address the aftermath of the mob riots that specifically impacted Pakistani students. Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized the concerns regarding the security of Pakistani students and acknowledged the supportive measures already taken by the Kyrgyz government, health department, and law enforcement agencies.

The talks also touched on broader bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of energy, connectivity, trade, and cultural exchanges, with both parties expressing satisfaction with the progress of their bilateral institutional mechanisms.
