Lahore, In an uplifting move for the upcoming Eid festivities, the Punjab Department of Social Welfare, under the guidance of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Treasury Sohail Shaukat Butt, has announced plans to significantly improve the holiday experience for residents within its care facilities. This initiative, which includes the distribution of Eid gifts and the establishment of a health unit within the social welfare complex, aims to bring joy and comfort to those living in institutions across all districts.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt made these announcements during a special Eid distribution ceremony organized with the support of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The ceremony saw the participation of influential figures such as Kashif Anwar, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Secretary Social Welfare Iqbal Hussain, and Director General Social Welfare Amna Munir. The event highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Department of Social Welfare and the local business community to ensure a memorable Eid for the department’s residents.
Minister Butt called upon the 37,000 members registered with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce to actively participate in these charitable activities, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in supporting vulnerable populations. Director General Amina Munir further underscored this sentiment by announcing her intention to spend Eid day with residents, showcasing the department’s commitment to fostering a sense of family and belonging among those in social welfare institutions.
