Mehbooba Mufti Criticizes Tax Department for Harassing Cross-LoC Traders

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, has voiced strong objections against the Income Tax Department of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for its alleged harassment of businessmen engaged in cross-Line of Control (LoC) trade, which has been suspended since 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a press conference in Srinagar, Mufti highlighted the plight of traders affected by the closure of trade routes across the LoC. She pointed out that the suspension has left many traders unemployed and facing significant economic challenges. Mufti called attention to the continued distress among these traders, who have expressed their hardships directly to her, seeking support and resolution.
