Minister Muqam Calls for Recognition of Pakistan’s Role in Supporting Afghan Refugees

Islamabad, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam has called on the international community to recognize Pakistan’s longstanding support for Afghan refugees, highlighting the country’s efforts over the past 40 years. This appeal was made during a meeting with Mio Sato, the Chief of Mission for the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Muqam praised the IOM for its assistance to Afghan citizen card holders and the broader host community within Pakistan. He also expressed his hope for the dignified and honorable return of Afghan refugees to their homeland, emphasizing the need for continued and enhanced international cooperation to support this process.
