Monsoon Surge to Bring Rain and Potential Landslides to Balochistan

Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center Balochistan has forecasted a significant monsoon influx, likely impacting several central and southern regions of the country, with potential risks of landslides and flooding in specific hilly areas.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the monsoon wave, stemming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, is expected to affect areas including Barkhan and Musakhel, where thunderstorms and heavy rains could lead to landslides and flooding. The forecast, covering the period from July 29 to 31, also predicts rainfall in Shirani, Doab, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Harnai, Ziarat, Sibi, Naseerabad, Jafarabad, and Kalat. Authorities have urged all relevant departments to remain vigilant and prepared during this period to handle the potential adverse effects of the monsoon.
