Ms. Gabriela Cuevas Barron, President Inter-Parliamentary Union, along with two-other Member of Parliament of Mexico is visiting Pakistan

Islamabad, August 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Ms. Gabriela Cuevas Barron, President Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), along with two-other Member of Parliament of Mexico is visiting Pakistan on a five-day visit on invitation of Honourable Chairman of Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen ties between the Senate of Pakistan and the IPU. Ms. Barron’s visit is the first high profile visit by an IPU president to Pakistan, and is deemed very important for parliamentary and diplomatic development.

It is hoped that her visit will help further promote the country’s soft image at an international level. Ms. Barron and members of her delegation will be holding meetings with President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar along with other key political figures of Pakistan. She will also be visiting Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) for Presentation of IPU’s 130th Anniversary Book.
