Islamabad: Myanmar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Wunna Han, has highlighted the significant tourism and economic potential of Pakistan, particularly emphasizing the opportunities in Gilgit-Baltistan and the religious tourism sector.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Han, in a conversation with APP, pointed out that Pakistan, with its rich historical backdrop including the Indus Civilization and sites like Taxila a noted center of Buddhist heritage holds substantial appeal for international tourists. He advocated for enhanced global visibility for these attractions to boost tourism.
The Ambassador also discussed the economic relationships between Myanmar and Pakistan, noting that the current trade volume stands at 70 million dollars. He expressed optimism that this figure could be increased through strengthened bilateral cooperation, suggesting that both nations stand to benefit from closer economic ties.
