Karachi, In an effort to enhance regional trade, a convoy of trucks from Pakistan’s National Logistics Cell (NLC) successfully reached the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, completing a significant journey over fourteen hundred kilometers. This development was marked by the export of a potato consignment from Okara and Rahim Yar Khan, achieving the trip in just seven days. A notable ceremony at Dushanbe Customs Terminal celebrated the inauguration of this new trade route under International Road Transport.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tajik Transport Minister Azim Ibrohim, speaking at the ceremony, acknowledged the significant step towards strengthening trade ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan, facilitated by the NLC’s initiative. He committed to supporting the smooth transit of Pakistani trucks into Tajikistan. Director General of NLC, Farrukh Shehzad Rao, highlighted the benefits of trading under the TIR system, emphasizing its role in promoting timely and efficient bilateral trade.
