Islamabad: Education leaders from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states have pledged to enhance collaboration among universities in crucial fields such as science, technology, health, and higher education. This commitment was made during the annual meeting of the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence held in Islamabad.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the participants at the meeting focused on addressing the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah through enhanced inter-university partnerships. The goal is to foster cooperative efforts that can drive advancements in pivotal sectors.
One of the key initiatives introduced at the meeting was a two-phased Action Plan on Improving University Rankings through Educational Reforms. This plan aims to tackle the gaps in global visibility of universities from OIC member states.
The proposed action plan emphasizes the development and strengthening of Institutional Quality Assurance Frameworks (IQAF) and building capacity to improve the international standing of these universities in global rankings.
By implementing these measures, the OIC education leaders aim to create a more robust academic network that can contribute to the overall progress and development of the member states.
